Youth Ice Fishing Derby & Annual Raffle (February)

The Kid’s Ice Fishing Derby takes place in February (usually scheduled to accommodate school vacations) on Lake Todd in Bradford and Newbury, NH. This tournament is for children up to the age of 15, but we strongly encourage the whole family to come out to the lake and participate. Registration for this event begins at 7:00 a.m. at the Bradford Fish and Game Clubhouse on Gillingham Drive, or you can click the link below to download the entry form to fill out beforehand.

There is no cost associated with the Derby, however donations for breakfast are gratefully accepted. Bait is provided for free. (Pack a lunch or purchased hot dogs on the lake.) Kids can begin fishing anytime after registration but must be back to the Clubhouse by 1:00 p.m. for the weigh-in. Prizes and trophies are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the three categories of Perch, Pickerel and Crappie.


Youth Trout Fishing Derby (May)

The Kid’s Trout Fishing Derby takes place on the 3rd Sunday of May at the Fisherfield Pond in Newbury (Rt. 103 to Old Post Road). This tournament is for children up to the age of 15, but we hope the whole family will come out and have some fun.

Registration for this event begins at 7:00 a.m., and the fishing begins at 8:00 a.m. and continues until 11:00 a.m. with the Award Ceremonies to follow immediately after. Prizes and trophies are awarded for the following categories: Youngest Angler to Catch a Trout, 1st Trout Caught, 1st Three Trout Caught and 1st, 2nd and 3rd Largest Trout Caught. There is no registration fee for this event. Pastries, doughnuts and drinks will be supplied by the Bradford Fish and Game Club.


Youth Field Day (Fall)

Bradford Fish & Game Club Youth Day is a fun-filled day of shooting, archery and fishing activities. Youth Day is usually held annually in the Fall. Like all our other children’s events, it is entirely free of charge.

This event is for children 8 years of age and up. It is limited to 20 children on a first come – first served basis, so sign up as early as possible. All participants must be pre-registered in order to ensure we have an accurate count on how many will be attending.


BF&G Classic and BBQ (August)

The Bradford Fish and Game Classic is a fishing tournament for club members, their families and guests. The tournament takes place on Lake Todd in Bradford and Newbury on the 3rd Sunday of August. Participants will meet at the clubhouse on Gillingham Drive between 7:00 and 7:30 a.m.  Fishing begins at 8:00 a.m. and continues until 1:00 p.m., with the Barbecue following immediately afterwards at the Clubhouse. The winner of the Classic will be determined during the afternoon, crowned ‘Champion’ and awarded the coveted ‘Classic’ Trophy. Members and guest don’t have to fish in order to attend the barbecue for some old time family fun!


BF&G Bass Trail (Summer)

Friday summer nights can find you at any given local fishing hole casting for the ‘Big One’ ’til sunset. Dates, times, locations to be determined.


BF&G Turkey Raffle (November)

The Turkey Raffle is always held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving at the Bradford Fish and Game Clubhouse on Gillingham Drive at 7:00 p.m. During this event the club raffles off twenty-five food boxes worth approximately $50.00 each. These boxes contain just about everything you need for a Thanksgiving dinner except the turkey!  Don’t’ worry-we will also raffle twenty 12-15 pound turkeys as separate items. Also being raffled will be fifteen 8-10 lb Hams, five 1-quart jugs of NH Maple Syrup and a number of miscellaneous items. There are free soft drinks and snacks available, so come on down and have some fun!


Potluck Wild Game Dinner (January)

The Annual Wild Game and Pot Luck Dinner is held on the second Saturday of January. This dinner is usually held at the Bradford Fish and Game Clubhouse on Gillingham Drive, and begins at 5:00 p.m. It is a chance for the members and their families to relax and dine, talk about the year gone by and the year ahead.
